Justice and Peace Group

The Justice and Peace group is part of a national network supported by national and diocesan Justice and Peace commissions.

It is committed to praying about, reflecting and taking action on, a range of social, moral and environmental issues affecting the world.

Currently the group is engaged in a number of activities including

Raising awareness of J & P issues in the UK and beyond within the group, parish and wider community

Liaising with the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, Children's and Young People's Liturgy Groups and other non-parish groups with similar interests so as to identify matters of common concern

Organising prayer vigils, usually on the second Saturday of each month from 3 pm to 4 pm

Providing Traidcraft goods at Parish Coffee mornings

Running an annual card campaign for prisoners of conscience

Supporting a drop-in centre for asylum seekers (Asylum Link in Liverpool)

Supporting a Nigerian priest currently pursuing further studies in the UK

The group meets monthly in the Parish Room. This is a business focused meeting which starts with prayer and reflection.

Everyone is welcome
